# reTrade > We make AI Agentic Trading mistakes insurable. reTrade puts guardrails on AI trading agents: before an agent places an order, reTrade's SDK asks reTrade and gets one of three signed answers, ALLOW, CUT (a smaller size) or BLOCK, with a reason code. Every decision goes into a tamper-evident log, and the SDK keeps the evidence in a claim kit an insurer can check. Pre-release: live trading isn't switched on yet. reTrade (a working name) is built by Lance Li, Mahimn Patel and Deep Patel, students at the University of Toronto. It is taking design-partner pilots with AI trading companies, insurers and brokers, and has a waitlist for people who let an AI trade their own accounts. ## Facts - Three answers only: ALLOW, CUT or BLOCK. Nothing waits for a person: there are no holds and no approval step. An order over one of the account's dollar lines, or one that clashes with another agent's order, comes straight back to the agent as BLOCK, with a reason code and the largest quantity that would fit, so the agent can resize, re-plan or ask its own user. A resized order is a new decision, and counts toward the agent's orders-per-minute limit. - The dollar lines are the business's own: a new account starts at $5,000 an order and $10,000 a day, and the business's admins set their own lines. - Limits include caps such as "no more than 10% of my money in any one stock", order size, cash, restricted lists and which agents may trade. The business running the agent sets them through an admin API and command line (in development), signed with two or more admin keys. A tighter limit applies at once; a looser one waits 24 hours. An agent's key can't change limits, modes or keys. - The end user never installs or opens anything from reTrade. The SDK runs with the agent, between it and the broker; reTrade never connects to the broker or holds its login. - Missing or stale facts mean BLOCK: an unregistered account, a price older than 30 seconds, or a stock it can't match exactly. - Fail-closed: the SDK gives each decision 2.5 seconds. If reTrade doesn't answer in time, the SDK blocks the order itself. - Each decision is signed and chained into a tamper-evident log: any later change shows. The SDK keeps the request, the signed answer and the broker's report in a claim kit that reTrade can't alter. - Every decision is made twice, by the engine and by an independent re-check written separately from the same specification. If they disagree, the answer is BLOCK. - Pilots are free, run 60 to 90 days on practice trading, and start with success criteria written down. - reTrade does not hold money or securities, does not move money, and does not provide investment, tax or legal advice. It is not an insurer, does not insure or guarantee against any loss and pays no losses. Insurable means each decision is signed, logged and kept as evidence, so an insurer can underwrite the risk and assess a claim. ## Pages - [Home](https://retrade.app/): what reTrade is, a limit to try, the pilot request and the waitlist - [Privacy](https://retrade.app/privacy): what the waitlist and pilot forms keep, and how to have it deleted - [Legal](https://retrade.app/legal): what reTrade is and isn't, in plain words ## Docs The developer docs, each page in Markdown (in development: names and formats may change).
